How should you book a hotel in Makkah?
- Book early for peaks: the last ten nights of Ramadan and the Hajj season sell out months ahead, and prices can be several times higher than in quiet months.
- Walk the route on the map: hills, tunnels and closed roads around the Haram add minutes. A hotel 600 m away in a straight line can be a 15-minute walk.
- Lifts matter: in tall towers, lifts are slow at prayer times. Read recent reviews about waiting times, especially if you travel with older family members.
- Permits: make sure your hotel dates match your Umrah permit in the Nusuk app.
